For many children living with muscular dystrophy, attending MDA summer camp is the highlight of their summer.  The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) hosts a week long summer camp in June each year in Wakefield, Virginia, where children can experience many activities like horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, and adaptive sports.  Each child is paired with a trained volunteer who assists the child during the week.

It currently costs $2,000 to send one child to camp.  Children are invited to attend this camp free of charge. CFMD has sponsored at least one child to attend camp each year since 2012.
